About The Event
Vanessa is one of Australia's best known zine makers and has been active in the zine scene since the 1990s. In this workshop Vanessa will introduce autobiographical zines/perzines and guide participants in making their own autobiographical zine. Zines are limited print-run, hand-made publications, and are an excellent way to experiment with writing and visual storytelling. They are used by writers, poets, illustrators and artists to produce unique and engaging literary works. In the workshop Vanessa will guide you through the process of zine making, as well as methods for working with autobiographical writing in zines.
Please bring some autobiographical writing to work with: your journal, some notes, a piece of writing.
All materials will be provided, however you may like to bring some collage materials, if there are specific images you’d like to work with.
