About The Event
Secrets of the Nile is book one in a six-book YA time travel series, The Time Travel Chronicles. 16yo Madison Bryant and Riley Sinclair, from Sydney, Australia, travel to ancient Egypt in Riley’s latest invention – a time machine. They meant to tread lightly, stay a couple of days and not interact with too many people. But when a local Egyptian invites them to stay with her family, they’re drawn into village dramas and can’t resist using their knowledge from the future to help. Their actions ripple through the time continuum with devastating results.
"It took me over a decade and 500,000 to write the six books in the series. My characters travel to five different historical periods: in book 2, they go to medieval England; bk 3 to the Wild West of America; in bk 4 to the Caribbean when pirates menaced the waters; bk 5 to Edo Japan, with proud samurai and ninja, and; in bk 6 they travel fifteen years into the future before wrapping things up at the graduation formal dinner in Darling Harbour, Sydney.
I’ve tried to give my readers an immersive experience in each period, so they feel as if they’re walking on those dusty streets.
It’s a rollercoaster ride through history, with plenty of romance and mystery, narrated in Maddy’s droll voice."
