About The Event

SOLD OUT!

Travel writing, is in essence, memoir writing – set in another place.

This short introductory course, lead by Better Read Literary Tours' very own Patti Miller, will introduce you to the varieties of travel and sojourn memoir and show you how to pack your travel-writing suitcase’ so that you include lots of unique perception and intriguing knowledge and don’t lug around useless clichés and formulaic responses.

We will read some travel writing extracts, discuss ideas and try some short travel writing exercises.

This course is for people who always wanted to try travel writing–whether you have travelled a lot or are planning to–when we can again. It will be based on the chapter on travel-writing in Patti’s text Writing True Stories.

The audience will be capped at 12 attendees to ensure personal attention. This workshop will take place on Zoom. The Zoom meeting details form part of your ticket, emailed to you after registration.
