Nicole will talk about why a book launch is so special, why she wrote the book, and lead an interactive discussion with kids on how to look after the oceans.
As part of the event, kids will be able to make their own jellyfish complete with tentacles! On each jellyfish, kids can write down the things they will do to help our oceans. They can decorate them in any way they would like. All materials will be provided.
This is a FREE event. Drinks and nibbles provided.
About the Book
Jelly-Boy is an unconventional, every-kid picture book that will inspire the next generation of readers to protect our oceans.
What happens when a jellyfish falls in love with a plastic bag she mistakes for a jelly-boy? Jelly-Boy is different. He is big and strong. And not as wobbly as the other Jelly-boys. By the time Jelly-Girl discovers the dangerous truth about her new friend, it may already be too late.
This is an inventive approach to tackling a conservation issue that is plaguing our world: too much plastic in the ocean. Told in a kid-friendly and humorous way, this is a story to encourage dialogue around an important issue.
