About the Book

Alone with her young daughter in Sydney, Australia, Evie Farrell agonised that her work, mortgage and responsibilities were keeping her and six year old Emmie from spending enough time together.

Her solution? To take to the road. She left her corporate career, sold or donated almost everything she owned, rented out her house and, hand-in hand with Emmie, began an epic backpacking adventure that would change their lives forever.

They had one backpack, savings that were meant for a kitchen renovation, and a desire to and make the most of every precious moment they had together.

They camped on the Great Wall of China, hung in train doorways in Sri Lanka, swam with mantas in Indonesia, donated much-needed blood in Cambodia, spotted wild orangutans and pygmy elephants in Malaysian Borneo, prayed in Buddhist temples in Taiwan and were chased by monkeys everywhere.
