About The Event

Barry Divola’s new novel, Driving Stevie Fracasso, follows the story of two estranged brothers – a washed-up music journalist and a washed-up rock star – who find themselves in a stolen Nissan Stanza on a road trip from Austin, Texas to New York City in the days leading up to 9/11.

It’s a love letter to New York, to the open road, to family, to love and to finding everything you didn’t know you were missing. And it’s infused with music and written to a soundtrack.

Barry will be appearing at Better Read Than Dead to talk about the book and perform a short acoustic set of songs that inspired it, including The Velvet Underground, The Replacements, Wilco and The Weakerthans.
