About The Event
Art is a mirror of society, reflecting back who we are and what matters to us. It influences and reinforces our opinions and beliefs. As such, artists become conduits that define and shape our culture.
The discussion will focus on addressing how cultural universalism impacts black artists, and reinforce the importance of recognising and appreciating our own art in order to tackle the misrepresentation and underrepresentation of our art.
This event will create a space for artists to showcase their work to help black art and culture thrive. It will foster diverse viewpoints that push forward an intellectual and cultural shift in the black community.
